Hydrasun Reaches 2 Years Without A Recordable Incident
Hydrasun’s Group HSE performance has steadily improved over recent years and in August this year has resulted in the significant achievement of 2 years without a recordable incident - a first for Hydrasun.
This achievement was the result of direct intervention to address five key areas of strategic focus for HSE across the company:
- Simplification and alignment of our HSE Management System (HSEMS)
- Reduced bureaucracy
- Rationalisation of HSE documentation using a risk based approach
- Increased competence and HSE capability of our people
- Bringing the HSE Management System to life through improved communication, engagement & accountability
In order to reach this milestone Hydrasun undertook an employee engagement initiative which re-affirmed the company's HSE expectations. This was led by the Group HSEQ Manager, Stuart Gardiner, who commented: “This employee engagement initiative has led to a deeper understanding of the HSE expectations across the business and also a deeper ownership through the line. With this increased ownership and clarity of expectations we have seen a significant step change in the way HSE underpins the business and is no longer seen as a "bolt-on" to activities. This deeper understanding will empower us to strive for excellence in HSE as standard.”
