Hydrasun demonstrates integrated solution capabilities with Wellhead Controls Award

21st March 2018

Hydrasun recently secured a significant award for the supply of 21 wellhead control panels (WHCPS) to a leading North Sea Operator with a value of almost £0.5 million.

The award involved Hydrasun project managing the procurement, layout, manufacture and individual testing of all 21 control panels.

The wellhead control panels incorporated a range of instrumentation products including double block and bleed valves, check valves, relief valves, pressure gauges and ATEX certified solenoid valves all fully installed, piped up within a bespoke enclosure which was designed to meet the clients specific space requirement.  Each panel provides a control interface between the platform hydraulic power unit (HPU) and the actuated valves on the wellhead xmas tree by means of Parker A-Lok inlet and outlet twin ferrule compression bulkhead fittings.

Hydrasun successfully project managed and delivered a high integrity fluid power and process control solution that met specific technical requirements, whilst reducing risk and optimising cost.

By engaging early with the customer Hydrasun were able to work closely with the engineering team providing technical support and proposing solutions to address specific issues which could impact quality and schedule whilst at the same time ensuring the customers demanding technical requirements were met.

The order was turned around in a 12 week lead-time on a staged delivery schedule.

This successful completion of project highlighted some of Hydrasun’s extensive capabilities including detailed engineering, manufacture, pressure testing and project management.
