Business Development Manager - North West England (Ref: 1333)

We are recruiting for a Business Development Manager for the North West of England.  This role will report to the Sales Director, and will manage and develop key customer relationships & identify key growth opportunities in support of Hydrasun becoming the clear market leader in the integration, site installation and maintenance of Hydrogen & Hydraulic Systems to End Users, Original Equipment Manufacturers and EPC Contractors in the UK & Europe

Additional focus of this position will be to identify/establish and manage clear Strategic Business Development opportunities and associated specific target projects in both the IIS (integrated Instrumentation Solutions, Hydraulic system / Maintenance, Core product &  new immerging Hydrogen market sectors.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

  • Extensive experience in a senior Sales / Business Development  role
  • Experience of developing long term customer relationships in new and emerging markets
  • Development of innovative contractual structures to meet the requirements of customers
  • Experience of selling added value solutions
  • Sound understanding of key marketing & market positioning activities
  • Track Record in effective customer account management, relationship development together with exposure within a commercial environment.
  • Market research, analysis and opportunity identification
  • Good command of the English language
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Team Player
  • Computer Literate
  • Experience of selling added value services
  • Excellent Presentation skills (including use of Microsoft Powerpoint software)
  • Ability to work effectively on own or as part of a team
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products at an intermediate level

Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

  • Degree – Business or Engineering
  • Experience of working with Hydrogen systems and sales & marketing in the Hydrogen market space
  • Established relationships with key  customers in emerging markets to align business requirements to meet the customer and market needs
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Petro Chemical or Food Processing sectors
  • A good working knowledge of Hydrasun products & services.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Development, Integrate and manage clear Business Development Strategy for the growth of the Teesside operations in the North of England
  • Further to the promotion of Hydrasun’s integrated product and service solutions for the marketplace, prepare and submit annual sales & growth plans for key target customers and projects
  • Accountable for achieving and exceeding agreed sales and profit performance targets for target customers on an on-going basis
  • Through close customer engagement drive forward the development of our market positioning strategy & overall business growth plans
  • Establish a close working relationship with all Hydrasun BD managers to develop collaborative working strategies to meet Hydrasun customer requirements
  • Establish a close working relationship with all Hydrasun internal sales team to develop collaborative working strategies to meet Hydrasun customer requirements
  • Responsible for implementing the Hydrasun defined key Customer Management & Project pursuit process with identified targets & maintaining / driving forward appropriate relationship & sales development plans
  • Responsible for engaging the wider Hydrasun organisation in the development  of specific Proposals for key target customers in order to realise business growth opportunities
  • Further to the above responsible for maintaining an appropriate Opportunities Pipeline & meeting defined Key Performance Indicators in terms of Pipeline Values and Order Book Values for key target customers
  • Maintain the Hydrasun centralised database of key customers and contacts for the target projects responsible for
  • In line with the above work closely with the Hydrasun channel / business unit managers responsible for the execution of new business opportunities
  • As required engage with 3rd parties (consultants, trade associations, agencies, professional advisors) to support the above and to assist in executing new business opportunities
  • As required work with Branch Manager to develop regional initiatives to grow and develop new business opportunities.
