August 2006 - Hydrasun - International Solutions Provider to the Subsea Umbilical Market

Hydrasun Group, the leading supplier of hoses, fluid connectors and instrumentation products to the oil & gas industry has further extended its service capability and is pleased to introduce its fully integrated service solution for subsea umbilical and flying leads.

For almost 10 years Hydrasun has developed a track record for supplying multi-line subsea jumper bundles to the oil and gas industry, with project successes including Statoil Snohvit, AIOC Azeri & Shah Deniz, and BP Farragon. This experience has enabled us to gain a full understanding of our customer’s requirements on international projects both in terms of high technical specifications and tight deadlines.

In response to these requirements, Hydrasun has developed a unique service solution that encompasses full project management with back-up technical support and after-sales service. From our custom built 2000m2 Extrusion and Umbilical facilities, we project manage the production of umbilicals and jumpers including design, product supply, engineering, manufacturing, termination to stab plates, flushing, testing (including necessary FATs) and, if required, installation within a subsea basket for immediate deployment to seabed.

Our focus on customer needs within the short length umbilical market has driven our service capability with the provision of complete products solutions with short lead-times of days or weeks compared to the previous industry standard of many months. In addition, our manufacturing capabilities within our Precision Machining Division, our in-house coded welding facilities and our close relationships with specialist international manufacturers, means that we can produce high technical specification end terminations in line with application specific requirements.

Over the last year the benefits of our fully integrated service have been appreciated by a number of major operators and service companies. International projects teams such as Stybarrow, Gunashli and Sinbad have been able to reduce the administration, time delays, order costs and frustrations inherent in the management of multiple supplier orders through the appointment of Hydrasun as the single source for their umbilical needs.

To reinforce our position as the leading market innovator in our field, Hydrasun has recently launched its Multiway Connector as an alternative to the traditional stab plate. This revolutionary, system offers unrivalled coupler protection during the critical subsea installation phase. Various combinations and quantities of customer specified couplings can be recessed within the protective male connector and only brought into alignment when the Multiway Connector is mechanically assembled. The versatility of the system allows for simultaneous connection of any combination of hydraulic, electrical, fibre optic and pneumatic lines.
