Customers & Industries
Oil and Gas
Hydrasun was formed in 1976 in the European Oil & Gas 'Capital', Aberdeen and has served all aspects of the upstream and downstream sectors for over 30 years. (see sample customer case studies below).
The Company has grown along with the Oil & Gas industry, building a strong reputation for delivery by keeping pace with changing technologies and operating practice through the products and services we offer.
We currently serve customer projects in all the major international provinces in the industry and our people are recognised as expert in the application of the products we provide, design and manufacture.

Shell (Exploration & Production)
Hydrasun has supplied equipment and provided related services to Shell for over 20 years.
The Customer / Supplier relationship has grown in this time from the simple supply of off-the-shelf commodities to Shell projects in the UK North Sea, to current frame agreements for the support of Shell operations worldwide.
Hydrasun now provides its full range of services to Shell from Hose Management agreements for the assurance of technical integrity to the design and manufacture of bespoke equipment for specialist applications in areas such as Sub-Sea production.
Recent Shell projects supported by Hydrasun include Goldeneye in the North Sea and the Bonga development in West Africa, including the delivery of specialist training to Shell personnel on the safe and effective use of Hydrasun supplied products.
Shell and Hydrasun have collaborated on several innovative equipment enhancements and bespoke designs, including the highly cost effective Hydrasun 'Hose Whip' connector.

BP (Exploration, Production, Chemicals & Refining)
The commercial relationship between Hydrasun and BP began over 20 years ago with the supply of hose assemblies, fittings and associated components to BP's Exploration and Production operations in the North Sea.
Today Hydrasun provides Products and Services to BP operations worldwide through formal 'Federal' frame agreements supported by CD based and online product catalogues.
Over time the product and service offering provided by Hydrasun to BP has evolved from traditional product supply to the provision of added value services ensuring that the specific needs of BP project and operating teams are fulfilled.
This has included the fast track engineering and production of Umbilical Assemblies for the COCOT projects being undertaken on the Schiehallion & Foinavon developments whilst in order to minimise safety and operational risks relating to Hose Assemblies on BP assets, Hydrasun developed and manufactured the non-interchangeable Glenlock coupling which has now been adopted as a standard across all of BP's UKCS.
The provision of Hose Integrity Management services to BP since 1993 has added further value and evolved to become a complete hose lifecycle management service covering most of BP’s UK assets.
Most recently, and in line with the strong BP commitment to occupational Safety, Hydrasun have been awarded a long-term contract for Hose Integrity Management Services and product supply to support BP (Caspian Sea) LTD with their operations in Azerbaijan & Georgia.
This contract, which has an estimated value of $5 million, encompasses complete Hose Management for all of BPs assets in the region, including the Chirag Platform, ACG facilities, Sangachal Terminal, Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP), Supsa Terminal, Northern Route Export Pipeline (NREP), Baku Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline and the Shah Deniz Gas Export Project.
In line with our commitment to focussing on customer needs, recent research and development work undertaken led to the successful development of specialist Grout Hoses for jacket installation on the Shah Deniz and Deepwater Guneshli developments. This product will be now be specified as standard on future phases of platform development in the region.

Cooper Cameron (Sub-Sea Trees)
In early 2001, Hydrasun entered into a long term agreement with Cooper Cameron to supply equipment and related support services to Cooper Cameron for a program of design and manufacture of Sub-Sea 'Christmas Tree' valves for the international deepwater Oil & Gas marketplace.
The agreement covers over 1000 stock and specially engineered components which meet the rigorous technical specifications required for equipment operating in a deepwater environment.
Quality and reliability of all components of the finally assembled units are critical Cooper Cameron, who maintain a continuous programme of Audit and performance benchmarking of their suppliers.
Hydrasun maintains its status as a valued supplier to Cooper Cameron by meeting and exceeding expectations of service and product performance on an ongoing basis.

Transocean Sedco Forex (Deepwater Drilling)
Hydrasun have been a supplier to Transocean for over 20 years and now provide products and related services to the enlarged Transocean Sedco Forex (TSF) group.
Products supplied range from basic Drilling Rig consumable items to ultra high pressure hoses and fittings to support of deepwater drilling and Sub-Sea operations of over 30 Drilling Rigs operated by TSF.
The close working relationship between Hydrasun and TSF has allowed the companies to collaborate on the development of new products and specialist coatings to match the specific operational needs of TSF teams in the most demanding of physical environments.
The innovative 'Bypod' Sub-Sea BOP Control was the product of close cooperation between supplier and customer and was initially fitted to the Transocean Leader in 1997. Subsequently 8 Mobile Rigs have been fitted with this product providing TSF Rig Crews with far greater reliability in the execution of critical deepwater operations.
TSF have made extensive use of Hydrasun's capability and expertise in the application of polyurethane protective coatings to Sub-Sea equipment, assuring the Technical Integrity of critical components over extended operational life cycles.

Sub Sea & Deepwater Oil & Gas Operations
In support of the increasingly challenging Sub-Sea and deepwater operations of customers in the Oil & Gas industry, Hydrasun has developed a range of specialist capabilities, products and services to support all stages of the development of a Sub-Sea facility, from Technical Product Advice to the Engineers Designing the equipment to support during Manufacture, Installation and Operation.
The encapsulation and coating of standard and bespoke components by Hydrasun for application to Sub-Sea Wellhead and Production equipment significantly extends predicted component lifecycles and reduced the risk of failure requiring expensive maintenance interventions to Sub-Sea facilities.
The design and manufacture of bespoke equipment such as the Bypod BOP Control, in conjunction with Drilling and SubSea Installation contractors, provides Hydrasun customers with a unique service to match the detailed requirements of individual processes and projects specifically tailored solutions.
Hydrasun also has the Engineering Staff and Workshop Facilities to modify standard components to match the specific environmental conditions or operating complexities of Sub-Sea installations, a recent example being the modification of equipment supplied to the Shell Bonga project to facilitate direct operation by ROV.
